Sharing an idea that I have been thinking for some time, using 3M household aircon air filter. Finally got down doing it

Yes...DIY.
This actually reduces the smog smell from diesel vehicles with the air recirculation opened. It also prevents small leaves or insects or small particles like pollen from getting into cabin. Good for kids who have pollen allergies.

Hi Supervirus,
Good to know that u are also the DIY Type...since you r on the topic of "AIR"
Do you know why the Air-recirculation mode LED goes off itself after about 20 or more minutes drive?....when it goes -off i usually press it immediately again.
Thanks

Lol! Welcome to the Merc's silly ideology. Someone brilliant at Merc headquarters think that we need fresh air from the outside to keep the driver from drowsy while driving long distance...a passive safety feature. That same fella doesn't realize that air quality is different in other countries like S'pore to Germany's "super clean" air. By default, it stays opened when start up & will automatically open in 20- 30mins after switching off. Some cars like W212 opens in 10 mins...lagi worse!
