Above on the right is one of the world smallest 400 day Torsion clock.
It's know as Kienzle Midget Hemispherical Pendulum JUF(jaresuhrenfabrik aka year clock factory) Collection Clock #197 dated 1911.
This clock is 1 century old and currently running as good as day one when it came out of the factory in Germany
When the clock came to me, Unker dismantled the clock and gear train, ultrasonic cleaned up the clock, polished & lacquered the brass parts.
Assembled the clock, oil the pivots, put on the suspension spring, wind up the clock and adjust the pendulum to beat.
A typical restoration of a single clock will usually takes me anything from 2 weeks to a month depending on my time.
I've clock that came to me and still sitting on my racks for years and I;ve not touch them
This clock is about 101 years old and has been in my collection 5 years ago
These kind of clocks are usually call 400 day torsion clock or Anniversary Clock.
One wind of the single train clock mechanism runs 400 days.
These clocks in the past were given out as gifts at wedding or birthday or anniversary.
So they are wind up at each anniversary of the year.
More to come!
